01 Agreement

These terms apply between you and Wcomm Gerenciamento de Sistemas Digitais Ltda, a company registered in Brazil, for your use of the akita app. By installing or using akita, you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

02 What akita is

akita is an educational and organizational tool for people who are already following a treatment prescribed by a health professional. It helps you record when you took a dose, keep track of application sites, note how you feel, follow measurements over time, and produce a summary of your own records to take to an appointment.

03 What akita is not

akita is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. It does not replace consultation with your doctor, pharmacist or any other qualified health professional.

The app does not interpret what you record. Blood pressure, heart rate, body mass index and any other value are stored and displayed exactly as you entered them, without classification, ranking or comparison against reference ranges. Information shown about a treatment cycle is general education about how these treatments are usually described, not an estimate of what is happening in your body.

Never adjust, interrupt or begin a dose based on what you see in akita. Always talk to the professional who prescribed your treatment.

04 Emergencies

akita is not for emergencies and cannot alert anyone on your behalf. If you feel unwell or believe you are having a medical emergency, contact your local emergency service or go to the nearest emergency room immediately.

05 Who can use akita

You must be at least 16 years old. By using the app you confirm that any treatment you record was prescribed to you by a qualified health professional, and that you are following their guidance.

06 The information you enter

Everything the app shows you comes from what you typed in. akita cannot verify whether a record is correct, and it does not correct you. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter, including anything you later show to a health professional.

07 Reminders

Reminders are scheduled by your device and depend on your notification settings, your operating system and the state of your phone. They can be delayed or missed for reasons outside our control, for example if the device is off, if notifications are disabled, or if battery saving features intervene. Reminders are a convenience and should not be your only way of remembering a dose.

08 Subscriptions and payment

Some features require a paid subscription. Prices and plans are shown inside the app and on the App Store, in your local currency.

• Purchases are processed by Apple and charged to your Apple account.
• The annual plan includes a free trial of 3 days for new subscribers. The monthly plan does not include a trial.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• To cancel, open the subscriptions section of your device settings. Cancelling stops future renewals and your access continues until the end of the period you already paid for.
• Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's own policies, not by us.

If you start a free trial and do not cancel before it ends, the subscription begins and Apple charges the price shown at purchase.

09 Your data and backups

akita stores your records on your device and not on a server of ours. If you uninstall the app, lose your phone, or reset it, those records are gone and we have no copy to restore. Keeping a backup of your device is your responsibility.

10 Acceptable use

Please do not use akita to record treatment for another person without their knowledge, attempt to modify or reverse engineer the app, use it in a way that breaks the law where you live, or present material generated by the app as if it came from a health professional.

11 Intellectual property

The app, its name, its interface, its illustrations and its content belong to Wcomm Gerenciamento de Sistemas Digitais Ltda. You get a personal, non transferable licence to use the app. Everything you record remains yours.

Medication brand names shown in the app belong to their respective owners and are used only so you can identify your own treatment. akita is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any pharmaceutical company.

12 Availability and changes

We may update the app, change features, or stop offering it. If we discontinue akita, we will give reasonable notice through the app or this website so that you can export or record what you need. Because your data is stored locally, it remains on your device unless you remove the app.

13 Limitation of liability

akita is provided as it is, without warranty that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, for decisions made about your health, or for records lost from your device. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including consumer protection law in Brazil.

14 Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page always shows the current version, and significant changes will also be signalled inside the app. Continuing to use akita after a change means you accept the updated terms.

15 Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. Consumers keep the protections available to them where they live.
